As part of the ambitious project ICP Connect: Beyond the Souvenir: A Multi-Regional Project for Authentic and Sustainable Hospitality Education, representatives from the participating universities held a key meeting to address fundamental aspects of the project’s development.
This global initiative connects the University of Cuenca (Ecuador) 🇪🇨, VIVES University of Applied Sciences (Belgium) 🇧🇪, Quy Nhon University (Vietnam) 🇻🇳, and Makerere University Business School (Uganda) 🇺🇬, aiming to transform hospitality education into more authentic and sustainable models. 🌱🎓
The meeting, held virtually 💻, primarily focused on budget management in alignment with the guidelines established by Belgian cooperation, including the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGD) and the VLIR-UOS program. 💶✅ During the session, representatives discussed strategies to ensure transparency, efficiency, and a positive impact in the financial management of the project.
📅 Another key topic was the review and strategic planning for 2025. This pivotal year will focus on advancing academic exchanges 🌏, designing practical experiences for students 👩🎓👨🎓, and fostering collaboration between culturally diverse regions, all with the shared goal of transforming hospitality education on a global scale. 🌟
💡 The project reaffirms the commitment of each institution to an educational model that promotes sustainable tourism 🌿 and the preservation of cultural heritage 🎭, creating tangible impacts in the communities involved.
📣 The meeting concluded with renewed enthusiasm, emphasizing effective collaboration among partners and a shared motivation to achieve the established goals. This academic bridge between continents continues to grow stronger! 🛤️🌐
